I created this short video using IMovie on my Mac to demonstrate how video internet marketing can be used effectively for drawing targeted traffic to your business website.

Small businesses targeting niche markets can benefit from the creation of what are effectively small video advertisements. Tagging videos with appropriate keywords related to your business can draw traffic, and increase search engine exposure quickly.

Distribution of the videos is easy with IMovie, just upload the video directly to YouTube. Other video sites that you may want to examine for video distribution are LiveVideo and FlickLife. All of these video sites are highly ranked by Google and get indexed often. Newly placed videos targeting specific keywords raise quickly in the search engine rankings. Within an hour of posting this video, I achieved #7 ranking in Google for the keyword phrase “madison seo“. Here’s the screen shot:

After one day, the ranking did drop to #10, but note that this is out of 1.1 million returned pages! I’ll continue to track how the YouTube page floats, and give updates as they become available.

For those actually reading this today, or soon thereafter, note that for this search phrase, my website, or articles linked to my website, or feeds of articles from my website, fairly well dominate the top 30 hits for the search phrase “madison seo“. I calculated it to be around 25% of the top 30 pages for this phrase. This took me about two months to do, but only over the last month have I really understood how to do this for any phrase I’m targeting. More to come…
